Russell Hunter

National Director, Canada

Russell Hunter is the National Director of the Human Performance Institute Canada and Principal with Tekara Organizational Effectiveness Inc. Russell oversees strategy, marketing, joint ventures, and regional development of associates across Canada. As a keynote speaker, Russell brings over 10 years of experience as a business leader, as well as athletic achievements in the sport of triathlon.

Prior to becoming National Director, Russell was the founder and CEO of Boldeye Solutions Ltd., a consulting firm with operations in Vancouver, Chicago, and London. Russell contributed articles to many publications including Business 2.0 Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, Fortune, and Canadian Business. He speaks regularily at business conferences and association events across North America.

As an accomplished Ironman triathlete, Russell competes across North America and in Europe. He now leverages his passion for endurance sports to enhance the lives of children in Canada. In 2001 he founded the IronChild Foundation, a registered charity which provides mentoring and educational opportunities for children living with chronic Illnesses.

Dr. Jim Loehr

Chairman, CEO, and Co-Founder

Dr. Jim Loehr is a world-renowned performance psychologist and co-author of the national bestseller The Power of Full Engagement - Managing Energy, not Time, is the Key to High Performance and Personal Renewal. In 2003 Dr. Loehr appeared on The Oprah Winfrey Show where an entire program was devoted to his groundbreaking energy management technology and concepts. He has also appeared on NBC’s Today Show, ABC’s Nightline with Ted Koppel, The CBS Evening News with Dan Rather, and CBS Morning News. Dr. Loehr’s work has been chronicled in leading national publications including the Harvard Business Review, Fortune, Newsweek, Time, US News and World Report, Success, Fast Company, and Omni.

Dr. Loehr has worked with hundreds of world-class performers from the arenas of business, sport, medicine, and law enforcement including Fortune 100 executives, FBI Hostage Rescue Teams, and Army Special Forces.

Dr. Loehr possesses a masters and doctorate in psychology, serves on several prestigious scientific boards, and is a full member of the American Psychological Association, the American College of Sports Medicine, the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and the Association for the Advancement of Applied Sport Psychology.


Dr. Jack Groppel

Vice Chairman and Co-Founder

Dr. Jack Groppel is an internationally recognized authority and pioneer in the science of human performance, and an expert in fitness and nutrition. He is an Adjunct Professor of Management at the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Dr. Groppel is also the author of The Corporate Athlete book. He developed the Corporate Athlete® concept while serving as an associate professor of kinesiology and bioengineering at the University of Illinois, helping both business executives and athletes increase performance levels. In 1992, he combined his program with Dr. Jim Loehr to form the Human Performance Institute, formerly LGE Performance Systems, Inc.

A Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine, Dr. Groppel is also a Board certified nutritionist in the American College of Nutrition and a former Research Associate to the U.S. Olympic Training Center. He served for 16 years as the Chairman of the National Sport Science Committee of the United States Tennis Association.
